The first Italian manufacturer of perforating and embossing

machines established in 1885.

One of our point of strengths besides the quality of materials used and the competence of our technicians, especially in various product lines preparation, is the Planning. The continuous search in order to improve the effectiveness and reliability of operation, allows the perforating machines to be constantly updated and extending in this way the possibilities to use them with a mix of dates, numbers, fixed and variable text , as well as increasing always a big quantity of digits and perforated sheets. The planning of embossing or stamping machines is constantly evolving. From bound registers up to single sheet and continuous forms, either one or multi-copies, an endless search has imposed more electronic than mechanical contents. This does not means that the manual machines, embossing, perforating or marking are now produced with less care than once; the Fattori Safest tradition, with over than 100 years of history, is and always will be the best guarantee of quality.

In 1885 – the same year the Statue of Liberty was presented to the City of New York as a gift from France, and a German, Karl Benz, designed and built the first internal-combustion engine - an Italian, thanks to the technology he had developed, established “Cesare Fattori, the first Italian company manufacturing perforating and embossing machines.
A child born into the trade – his father, Michelangelo, designed and developed seals for sealing wax on behalf of town councils and the aristocracy of his time – Cesare would turn a handicraft workshop, located a very short distance from Milan Cathedral, into a company skilled in developing designs and machines that could successfully tackle a number of problems related to validation of documents and identification.

With great obstinacy, Cesare pursued his great passion for paper embossing and perforating machines, and turned Cesare Fattori into a market leader.

Cesare paid painstaking attention to equipment and machine manufacture like anyone who has great love for this profession. Some specimens are still operating although they are almost one-hundred year old.
In 1910, Cesare Fattori specialized in this production area and was awarded a Gold Medal at Esposizione delle Industrie in Genoa for designing and developing an air-pressure perforating machine.

In 1953, CESARE FATTORI was taken over by Mr. Fermo Ghiddi, an Italian engineer who, by also merging Germany’s SAFEST, set FATTORI SAFEST on foot, a company that in a few years gained a strong foothold in domestic and foreign markets.
In 1975, Fattori Safest was awarded the Smau Award for Industrial Design. Therefore, from a handicraft workshop the company was turned into a fully-automated concern which could meet the requirements of demanding customers in the area of paper documents’ applications. At present Fattori Safest, under the leadership of the Ghiddi family, has become an international concern. Applications for banks were followed by other economic applications i.e. from public administration to private enterprise, finance, automobile and pharmaceuticals, through to the food area.
